Sezincote House

This Grade II* North Cotswold stately home required a new roof covering and stonework repairs and we were privileged to win the competitive tender to do this work.

A complex scaffold was designed and erected to cover much of the building whilst we stripped the old Westmoreland slates and fitted brand new ones, together with thermal efficiency improvements in the form of multi foil insulation underneath the cross battening.

Repairs were also undertaken to the hardwood framing structure beneath the copper tower, and the cast iron fretwork found on the surrounding garden structures.

Working in close collaboration with the Architect, the Client and the Quantity Surveyor, this work was undertaken throughout one of the harshest winters England has experienced, and the day-to-day life of Sezincote House continued throughout the contract period. Early engagement with an ecologist ensured the encounters with bats were sensitively and expertly dealt with.
